Devereaux, 70, of 9020 Briarwood, died Saturday at a Lansing hospital. He was born December 4, 1906, the son of Archie Devereaux and Edith Pettit. Mr. Devereaux was the former owner of Devereaux restaurant and lounge in Lansing; a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, Dale Hyland post 129 and Veterans of Foreign Wars post 4090. He was also a member of 40 & 8 number 946, Lansing. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; his step-mother, Elmira Devereaux of Belmont; two brothers, Archie of Kent City; and William of Grand Rapids; five sisters, Mrs. Hattie Marshall of Newaygo; Mrs. Edith VanNorman of Saginaw, Mrs. Jennie VanDenburgh of Belmont; Mrs. Betty Zalewski of Rockford and Mrs. Ruth Were of Grand Rapids and one sister-in-law Mrs. Charles Venneman. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer society. Funeral mass is Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Neller Funeral home with Rev. Father Donald Weber officiating. Rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. and prayer is Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services are at Fairplains cemetery in Grand Rapids at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Bearers are Ray Barnes, Donald Barnes, Robert Pulice, Robert McDonald, Sidney Scribner and Gene Herington.
