She was born May 23, 1949 in Carson City the daughter of Wendell and Vera (Fenn) Peiffer. She was a 1968 graduate of Ionia High School and married John C. Devers in June of 1968 at St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City. She worked at Country Basket in Hubbardston for several years before her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, riding her golf cart and keeping up her beautiful flower gardens. Mary loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and siblings. Mary is survived by four sons, John (Jeanne) Devers of Ithaca, David (Terri) Devers of Palo, Scott (Sherena Jenks) Devers of Elm Hall and Brandon (Fiancee Melissa) Devers of Carson City, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, siblings, Sharron (John) Heckman of Pewamo, Suzanne (Jim) Barker of Hubbardston, Wendell J. “Skip” (Roxanne) Peiffer of Hubbardston, Thomas (Doris) Peiffer of Hubbardston, Joseph (Penny) Peiffer of Hubbardston, Rodney (Vicki) Peiffer of Ionia, Fred Peiffer of Hubbardston, Cynthia (Pete) VanBeelen of Carson City, Lawrence “Dean” Peiffer of Hubbardston, Dan Peiffer of Hubbardston, Anthony Peiffer of Pentwater, Kelly (Cyril) Donahue of Carson City and Terry Peiffer of Pewamo. Also a sister-in-law, Sharon Dukes of Ionia and a brother-in-law, Rick (Vicki) Devers of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2008, a son, Christopher Devers, two brothers, John David “Jack” Peiffer and Randall “Pete” Peiffer and a brother-in-law, Robert Devers. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Maryknoll Cemetery with Deacon Rick Devers officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hubbapalooza in care of Hands on Hubbardston. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City.
