IONIA- Amber J. Devers, 90, of Ionia died Sunday evening, Aug. 3, 1997 at Ionia 
County Memorial Hospital. 

She was born Nov. 117, 1906 in Ionia County, the daughter of William A. And 
Dorabelle (Rose) Buckley. She was a life-time Ionia resident. 

She was married to Benjamin David Taylor who preceded her in death, and she was 
also married to John Charters Devers in 1955, and he preceded her in death Feb. 
3, 1985.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Ionia and was very active in 
quilting and crocheting.

She is survived by two sons, William Taylor of Saranac and Benjamin Dee Taylor 
of Lowell; two daughters, Genevieve (Robert) Adair and Wanita (Charles) Harris, 
both of Ionia; 13 grandchildren, Joyce (Bradley) Nichols, William Taylor Roy 
Taylor, Stuart Buckley, Trudy (Clay) Watson, Carol Bates, Leo D. Taylor, Jerry 
Taylor, Dana (Clarence) Hunter, Robert (Jackie) Adair Jr., Judith (Barry) 
Helms, Debra (Elisha) Clifford and Sally Harris; numerous great and great-great 
grandchildren, making up five generations.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; twin sons, Donald Ellis and 
Ronald Willis Taylor; one daughter, Lois Jean Taylor; two grandchildren, David 
Taylor and Diane Adair; one sister, Laura Alice Peterson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amber J. Devers will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. 
at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Tharp officiating. 
Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Myers Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Heart 
Association. Envelopes are available at the Myers Chapel or at the Lincoln 
Avenue Baptist Church.
