Bricker of the death of Ernest W. Dewey in Indianapolis Sunday night. The message also stated that the interment would be in Belding. The body arrived this Wednesday morning and was taken to the home of Mr. Bricker where the funeral service was held at two o’clock p.m. in charge of the Masonic order of this city. The deceased is the son of Harlow Dewey, a former resident of Belding in its early days. Mr. Dewey with his three sons operated the lath mill for Wilson Luther & Wilson at this place and later in Luther. He was thirty-two years old and for several years has been manager of the Great Western Oil Company’s interest in Indianapolis. The remains were accompanied by his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Lampkins and Miss Nova Dewey of Owosso and the father, Harlow Dewey of Grand Rapids. The burial took place in the old cemetery where a relative of the deceased is buried. Mr. Dewey was closely associated with Frank H. Barnes of Grand Rapids, general manager of the oil company, who was stricken with heart failure Tuesday night at the supper table and died immediately. Mr. Barnes made arrangements for Mr. Dewey’s funeral here and it is supposed the sorrow and the excitement incident to the obsequies caused his collapse.
