JAS.N. DEWITT, LONG ILL, DIED WED. ----------- LEAVES HUSBAND AND ONE SON. FAITHFUL MEMBER OF METHODIST CHURCH AND O.E.S. ------------ Mrs. Julia C.DeWitt, wife of James N. DeWitt,living on the Boulevard in the southeastern part of town, passed away at her home soon after midnight Wednesday morning. Mrs. DeWitt was 73 years of age. She was a beautiful character, quiet and refined. She was a loyal Christian, being a member of the local Methodist church many years. She was also a member of the local chapter of Eastern Star which she greatly enjoyed when able to attend. She was born in Roxand township and lived most of her life in Grand Ledge. About fifteen years ago she and her husband came to Lake Odessa and bought a home here. When Mrs. DeWitt's health became poor and her husband along in years, her only son George DeWitt came to make his home with them and help care for them. He has been the "main stay" and care take for the last ew years. Besides the husband and son she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Homer Mattice and Mrs. Charles Roat of Grand Ledge and Mrs. Forbes Louven of Lansing, and one brother Burt Capwell in the state of Washington. The funeral will be held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Leon W. Manning officiating and burial will be at Lakeside cemetery.
