JUDITH LEA DE YOUNG
Judith Lea De Young, 71, of Saranac, passed away on June 30, 2016. She was born Jan
31, 1945 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Russell and Aleda (VanderVeen)
Meyer. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a devoted 
Christian, loved needlepoint, sewing and knitting.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Tami (Tom) Hardy of Saranac, and Amy Cavanaugh of
Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Aaron (Leah) Hardy of Saranac, Sarah (Paul) Hardy of 
Belding, Katie (Josh) Foote of Middleville, and Trevor Cavanaugh of Wyoming; great-
grandchildren, Avi, Eli and Ethan; and brother-in-law, Lee Plasier of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rosealyn Plasier..

Funeral services for Judy will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Saranac
Community Church with Pastor Frank Lattimore officiating.Visitations will be on Tuesday from
5-8 p.m. at Lake funeral Home in Saranac. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to
the Saranac Fire Department or the Saranac Community Food Pantry. Online condolences may
