He was born in Deneca county, Ohio, February 4th, 1849, and came to Michigan when about twenty-five years of age. December 28th, 1876, he was united in marriage to Mahala C. Dick, who, with one son, one daughter, twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one brother are left to mourn their loss. For years he owned and lived on what is now the Chas. Ludwick farm. Seventeen years ago he purchased and moved to the home where he died. Funeral services were held from the North Plains Union church, Rev. E.W. Dettiveiler of Blanchard, Mich., officiating.
