Carson City Gazette, 2 Jul 1931

Wayne Stewart Dick, son of George E. and Maud Dick, who live one and one-half
miles southwest of Matherton, died at his home in Petersburg, Mich., June 26th.
 He was born in North Plains township on March 19, 1897.  For some years he
taught school until his health began to fail him, his last teaching position
being in the Shepherd high school.

During the last eight years of his life he was a salesman for school supplies. 
On April 21, 1917, he was married to Eva Fortine of Holland and to this union
were born two children, Helen Elaine and Betty Jean.  He is survived by his wife
and two daughters, his parents, three brothers and two sisters.  He had many
other relatives and a host of friends.  He was a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church.

The funeral service was held at the Matherton Methodist church on Sunday
afternoon, with the pastor officiating.  Burial was in the west side cemetery at
Hubbardston.
