Mrs. Dickinson, who had been an employe of the war plant of AC Sparkplug in Ionia, became ill a week ago Wednesday at her home next door to her parents. Mrs. and Mrs. John Higbee, of Ionia township. She was removed to the home of her parents and last Sunday night taken by ambulance to Blodgett hospital where attempts were made to save her life. She died at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday morning after attempts during the night were made to save her by use of an iron lung, the attending physician declared. Born October 26, 1919, in Ionia township, Mrs. Dickinson was graduated from the Ionia high school in 1938. In April 1941, she was married to Floyd Dickinson who left for basic training in the United States navy only three weeks ago. He has been stationed at Great Lakes Training station and was immediately summoned to return. He arrived at the Grand Rapids hospital an hour before his wife died. She had been unconscious since Tuesday noon. Surviving besides the husband are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Higbee, of Ionia township; two sisters, Frances and Jean, and a brother, Bruce, all at home; and her grandparents, Mrs. and Ms. E. Higbee, also of Ionia township.
