She was born on January 5, 1917 in Ronald Township the daughter of Floyd and Rose (Carpenter) Livingston. Mrs. Dickerson lived her entire life in Ronald Township on the family farm until moving to Ionia in 1992. She was a lifetime member of the Palo United Methodist Church, Ronald Twp. Grange, Forget-Me-Not Club and Farm Bureau. Marietta enjoyed traveling with the Restless Ones and the Air Stream Travel Club traveling extensively the entire U.S. and Canada by travel trailer. On May 23, 1937 she married Lyle Dickerson on Lyle's parents' (George and Grace Dickerson) farm in Ronald Township which the family has owned since 1868. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Lyle; children Gary (Pam) Dickerson of Grand Rapids, Gayla (Jim) Powers of Spring Lake, Weston (Carol) Dickerson of Milford, Edgar (Karen) Dickerson of Waterford; nine grandchildren Ron (Jennifer) Powers, Brian (Tracey) Dickerson, Mark (Rachel) Powers, Brent (Rachel) Dickerson, Trevor Dickerson, Kristi Dickerson, Tara (Peter) Smith, Anne (Brian) Sherrieb, and Scott Dickerson; six great-grand children Kyra, Kyle, Devin, Sarina, Nathaniel, Talon, and Cheyene. In celebration of the life of Marietta Dickerson funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Charles Cerling, Pastor and Rev. Larry Nalett at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Palo United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Palo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Ionian Chapel, 220 Rich St. Ionia.
