Funeral services for James E. Dickinson, 84, a resident of Portland for many 
years, were held at Neller Funeral Home Monday afternoon, Rev. Keith Avery 
officiating.  Mr. Dickinson passed away last Friday at the home of a niece, 
Mrs. John Strait, of Crystal.  Mr. Dickinson was employed at Ferris Farm 
Service for some time.  He had been ill for over a month and had recently 
spent some time at the hospital in St. Johns.

He was born October 25, 1866 in Montcalm county and was the son of Mr. and 
Mrs. Barber Dickinson.  Several nieces and nephews survive.  

Burial was in Portland cemetery.  Bearers were Allan Howard, Bruce Young, 
Clifton Peake and Clayton Walters.
