He was born December 8, 1848 in town of Cayuga, county of Haldinand, Ontario, and was the oldest of a family of ten children. He was married when 25 years of age, to Miss Charlotte Wheaton, who survives with two sons, James and Arthur. They moved to Ionia county in 1882. he has always been a farmer, and he was one of the self-reliant, honorable and dutiful citizens, respected and admired by everybody who knew him—a type of the highest quality of manhood. The funeral was from the home, on the Currier farm four miles northeast of city, on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. sun time. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and Rev. G. Webster Moore conducted the service. Interment, North Plains cemetery.
