Ionia Sentinel - Thursday, 8 Jul 1875
In Pewamo, Ionia county, Mich., June 27th, Alvira, wife of John Dickson, and 
daughter of Charles and Catherine Millard, aged 32 years.  At a meeting of 
Pewamo Lodge No. 815 of Good Templars, held June 29, 1875, the following 
preamble and resolutions were adopted:

Whereas, It has pleased our Divine Master to call from among us by death our 
beloved and respected sister, Alvira Dickson; therefore:
Resolved, That while we bow in humble submission to the summons of the Great 
Master, by which he has removed one of number from time to eternity, we desire 
to pay a tribute to the memory of our departed sister, and give an expression 
of sorrow for our loss.
Resolved, That to our Brother who has been bereft of a loving and affectionate 
wife, and to the other relatives of our deceased sister, we extend our 
heartfelt sympathy.
Resolved, That the death of our sister, so suddenly called from earth to a 
better land, should be a warning to us all to be ready to meet her beyond the 
River.
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be entered on the records of the 
Lodge, and also a copy furnished the Hubbardston Advertiser and Ionia Sentinel 
for publication.
