Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 & 15 May 1952

Peter J. Diehm, 79, of 523 North Jackson street died at the Ionia Rest Home
Wednesday morning, May 14, following a heart attack.  He had been a patient
there for about three weeks.

He was born in Germany June 24, 1872.  He lived in Ionia most of his life.  His
wife, the former Bertha Krueger, died in October, 1951.  He was a member of the
St. John’s Lutheran church.  He was employed for many years by the brewery.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Normal Richards, of Miami, Fla., and three
grandchildren, Jack Richards and Richard and Patsy Diehm.

The body was removed to Myers funeral home.  Funeral arrangements will be
announced later.

Services for Peter J. Diehm, 523 North Jackson street, who died at the Ionia
Rest Home Wednesday, May 14, after being ill for three weeks, will be held with
a prayer service at the Myers funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m.  Funeral services
will be in St. John’s Lutheran church at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. R.A. Rook will
officiate with burial at Highland Park cemetery.  The casket will remain closed
at the church.
