Dillenbeck was born in Mexico township, Oswego county, New York, January 1, 1832 and died at his home in Lowell, March 16, 1914. When twelve years of age he came with his parents to Michigan, locating near Lake Odessa. From there he moved to a farm in South Boston, where he lived until thirteen years ago when he came to Lowell. June 5, 1859, he was united in marriage with Margaret Graham and for nearly fifty-five years they journeyed the pathway of life together. To them were born two children, Mrs. J. M. Meyers of this city and Walter Dillenbeck of Grand Rapids. Besides the widow and two children he leaves, of near relatives, four grandchildren, Mrs. Athol Gosch of Freeport, Mrs. A. L. Nye of Lake Odessa, Walter and Homer Dillenbeck of Grand Rapids, and two great grandchildren, Doris and Margaret Gosch of Freeport. For forty-eight years Mr. Dillenbeck has been a member of the South Boston Methodist church, serving as treasurer of the building committee at the time the church edifice was erected. Funeral services were conducted at home in Lowell by Rev. I. T. Weldon, Wednesday March 18. Burial in South Boston cemetery.
