Dilley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Dilley, died at his home in this village on Friday morning last, in the 21st year of his age, of that dread disease, consumption. The young man had been failing for some weeks past, but had grown rapidly worse the past week, and finally dropped off in death as if going to sleep. Nearly two years ago Jo. went to California with the hopes of being benefited by a change of climate, and for a time was better; but the germs of consumption were too firmly seated and he came home to die. His funeral services were held at his father’s residence on Sunday afternoon last, the Rev. McAlpine of Charlotte conducting the services. The family of the deceased have the sympathy of the community in their affliction.
