The Ionia County News, Thursday, April 13, 1944
Mrs. William Dilley, 63, of Muir, died about 11:30 Thursday evening, April 6, 
at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since 
Tuesday.  She was the widow of the late William Dilley of Ionia.

Jessie Sykes was born in Caledonia, February 25, 1881, and had been a resident 
of Ionia County since early childhood.  In 1902 she was united in marriage 
with William Dilley of Ionia.  Mr. Dilley died in August 1935, and their 
daughter, Doris, Mrs. Clifford Harwood, died in December of that year.  
Surviving Mrs. Dilley is a brother, Dr. R. S. Sykes, Ionia and Muir, and a 
grandson Jerry Harwood, Portland.

Dr. Paul L. Stewart officiated at the funeral service held Sunday afternoon 
from Muir Presbyterian church.  Burial was at Muir.
