He came with his parents to Portland, Michigan when five weeks old. Two years later they moved on to a farm in Roxand township. He was married to Ellen J.Van Houten, of Roxand township., February 23, 1879. To them were born three sons and two daughters; Glen of Roxand township; Clifford and Van of Grand Rapids; Ethel, now Mrs.Charles Tew, Jr.of Lake Odessa, and Florence who died three years ago in Sunfield, at the age of 12 years. After his marriaage, he moved on to a farm in Sunfield township. In 1903 he moved into the village of Sunfield, when he was appointed rural mail carrier, resigning that position only a few days before his death. Several months ago, failing health compelled him to relinquish his work.During the greater part of this time he stayed with his children, passing away at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Charles Tew, Jr., in Lake Odessa. His wife died a little more than eight years ago. He is survived by his children, two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs.Charles Jackson of Sunfield and a large circle of friends. The funeral was held in the Sunfield Methodist church, Rev. Laity officiating, assisted by Rev.Ellinger, the Sunfield Methodist pastor. The burial was in charge of the I.O.O.F. and the Rebekahs attended at the church. Burial was in the Welch cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our neighbors and friends for their sympathy before and after the death of our father. Also the donors of flowers and especially those who furnished the means of conveyance. Robert Dilley Robert Dilley died Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Chas.Tew, Jr. Mr.Dilley was 60 years old, and is survived by three sons and one daughter. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon in the Sunfield Methodist Church, Rev.Laity officiating, assisted by Rev. Ellinger. The Oddfellows were in charge of the burial, and the Rebekahs attended the services at the church.
