Her health had not been good for several months, although she was not seriously ill. Before her marriage she was Julia A. Cook, born in Oakland county, New York, on July 9, 1850. At the age of three years she came with her parents to Michigan, where the family settled in Ronald, but later moved to Cook’s Corners, south of Belding, which was named for her father, Rufus R. Cook, who built a tavern when the road was opened in 1846. This became later a stage stop, and the place was named Cook’s Corners. Rufus Cook was given charge of the Otisco post office, established at Dickinson in 1838, in 1839 when the office was transferred to Cook’s Corners. She was married to Samuel Dinehart July 19, 1873, and lived her entire married life in that community. Survivors are two sons, Bradley, with whom she lived at the time of her death, and Samuel, of Detroit; two daughters; Mrs. Frances Lewis, of Monmouth, Ill., and Mrs. Gertrude Keiser, of Pontiac; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, August 25, at 2 o’clock from the home north of Muir.
