Dinehart, 84, of Easton Township, Ionia County, died Saturday, October 22, 1994, at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sept. 8, 1910, in Winona, Minn., the son of John and Nancy (Maggie) (Morris) Dinehart. He came to Michigan and the Ionia area as a baby where he has lived since. He married Maxine M. Smith on June 20, 1931 in Elkhart, Ind. He was a foreman for Ionia County Road Commission for 44 years before retiring. He was also a farmer, a member of the Haynor School Board for two terms and a long time member of Ionia Elks Lodge. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Gonnella and Deanne (Dan) Stephens both of Ionia; one son, Joseph (Dianne) Dinehart of Ionia; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister, Helen Slowinski of Ionia; one half-brother, Benjamin Reusch of Joshua Tree, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his wife on September 21, 1990. Private family committal services will be held at Easton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Ionia Chapter, envelopes are available at the Cook Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
