She was born Sept. 13, 1921 in the Palo area to Ethel May Hill and Rupert Felding Warner. Donna graduated from Palo High School and received her teaching degree from Central Michigan University. She worked as a teacher in Ionia County for10 years and in Gratton for 3 years before moving to the Rockford School System in 1954. In Rockford she taught elementary grades for 10 years and then became director of the remedial reading program and the materials center, retiring after 35 years of service. Living most of her life in the Ionia area, she was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, 8 and 40, Christmas Distribution Club and Jobs Daughters. She is survived by her children, Kortne (Lee) Lampman of Ionia, Sue (Jerry) Heft of Sand Lake, Mich. and Max (Nancy) Doty of Ionia; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two special nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister; former husband, Willard Doty; and second husband, Herb Dinning. Funeral service swill be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia; with Pastor Armand Aronson officiating. Interment will take place at Balcom Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
