Mr. Dinning lived alone at his home which was a two-story frame dwelling with a lean to kitchen at the rear. It is not known how the fire started but when discovered the house was in flames and was destroyed in a few minutes. Mr. Dinning’s body was terribly burned, the head, arms and legs being burned off. Mr. Dinning’s sleeping room was in the southeast corner of the house. When the body was found it was at the door leading to the kitchen. From all indications Mr. Dinning was aroused by the fire and tried to make his escape through the door at the rear of the house. Either the door knob pulled off or something happened which prevented him from opening the door and overcome by smoke he perished at that spot. He left one son, Robert who resides four miles southwest of Palo. The funeral took place this morning the body being buried in Palo cemetery.
