Last Monday night the Grim Reaper visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Connell and took there from Mrs. Emily Divine, Mrs. Connell’s mother, who had reached the ripe old age of seventy-seven years. Mrs. Divine was for many years a resident of Oakfield township, and a pioneer of that section. For many years past, however, she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Connell, visiting occasionally with other members of her family. Deceased was the mother of eight children, all of whom survive her: Frank Divine of Cedar Springs, Charlie of Martin, George of Caledonia, Will of Nanton, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Jacob Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Ray Powell of Chadwick, Mrs. Chester Town of Entrican and Mrs. Connell of this city. Of a natural retiring disposition she loved the quiet life of home far better than the allurements of society. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Connell, this afternoon at one o’clock and the remains were taken to the White Swan cemetery in Oakfield for interment.
