Sabrina Curtis was born in Ingersoll, Ont., in 1857. When eight years old, she removed with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Curtis, to Michigan, locating at what was then known as Fish’s Mill, in Otisco township. A year or two later, her father purchased the farm now owned by Ja.s Gore out on Greenville road, in Eureka township, where they resided several years. Later her father sold that place and bought farm a mile farther north, where she grew to womanhood and where her parents still reside. In 1882 Miss Curtis accompanied D. P. Fargo and family (and several other people from this vicinity, among them being Asher Divine) to Doland, South Dakota, where she homesteaded 160 acres of government land. Two years after their arrival there, she and Mr. Divine were married. Besides the many friends left to mourn her untimely demise is a husband, two sons aged 18 and 15 years, respectively, father and mother, one brother and five sisters, as follows: Barney C. Curtis and Mrs. A. J. Osborne, of this city; Mrs. Pink Nicholas, of Chicago; Mrs. Bert Norton, of Otisco; and Mrs. Ella Bunker and Mrs. Hattie Swartzloff, of Eureka. The remains arrived here today, accompanied by Mr. Divine, and were taken to the home of her parents where funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Forest Hill cemetery, Greenville.
