Hubert L. Dixon, 83, of Buffalo, N.Y., formerly of Saranac, Mich., and 
Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away Sept, 8, 2011 in Buffalo, New York. He was born 
March 13, 1928 in Ionia, the son of Earl and Very (Osborne) Dixon.

He married Ruth Tyler June 18, 1949 in Ionia. She preceded him in death Sept. 
24, 2005. He went on to marry Laura Stanbro, March 3, 2007. 

Hubert was a World War II Army Veteran and past commander of Saranac American 
Legion. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, Fla., and 
a past member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Saranac.

Hubert is survived by his loving wife of four years, Laura Dixon of Sandusky, 
N.Y.; children, Virginia Chapin of Morley, Katherine (Tom) Eckert of Freeport, 
David (Betsy) Dixon of Saranac, John (Debra) Dixon of Lowell, Patrick (Laurie) 
Dixon of Pennsylvania, Margaret (Bill) Rock of Florida, Barbara (Marc) Hoople 
of Greenville, and Mary Baptiste of Kentucky; step daughter Terri (Chuck) 
Wright of New York; brother Harry (Mary) Dixon of Ionia; sister, Carol Rumisek 
of Ionia; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great 
grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; two brothers, Donald Dixon 
and Charles Dixon; and one sister, Louise Brady.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. 
Anthony’s Catholic Church in Saranac with Father Victor Kynam celebrant. 

Interment Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. 
Wednesday with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
