LAKE ODESSA- Stanley J. Dobija, age 90, of Lake Odessa, was taken to his 
eternal rest early Friday morning July 8, 2005.

Stanley was born in Fremont, Ohio, on April 30, 1915 to John and Anna 
(Prqbylka) Dobija.

He was proud to have served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1932 
during the Great Depression. He has many memories of planting trees in the 
Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Stanley began working for Ford Motor Company in 1933 and retired as a plant 
supervisor in River Rouge after 36 years of service.

Stanley and his wife, Genevieve, moved to Lake Odessa in 1976 when he built 
their home on Eagle Point. He spent many hours caring for his yard and 
flowers, and was also an avid bowler. 

Stanley enjoyed golfing with his wife, and other relatives and friends.

He is survived by Genevieve, his loving wife of 65 years; son, Michael 
(Carol) Dobija; daughters, Carole A. Netzel, and  Patricia (Stephen) 
Fredericksen; seven grandchildren; sisters, Julia Gibniewski, Tilly Jensen, 
Rose (Stanley) Laczkowski, Gertrude Soviar, and Cecilia Chargo; and many 
nieces, nephews and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by by his parents; son-in-law, Frank Netzel; 
brother, Alex Dobija; and sisters, Mary Dobija and Virginia Dobija.

The funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at St. Edwards 
Catholic Church. Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the St. 
Edward's Family Center.

Arrangements were made by the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
