Dodds, 75, of Bridge Street died early Saturday morning in Ferguson- Droste hospital in Grand Rapids. Born April 22, 1894 in South Dakota, he moved to Saranac as a boy with his parents where he married Mable Trowbridge in August 1914. The couple lived most of their married life in the Saranac area. Mr. Dodds was a World War I veteran and a 50 year member of American Legion. He has been employed at Michigan Reformatory 15 years and at one time was employed by Ypsilanti-Reed Company ten years. He was also a member of the Saranac Masonic lodge and Community Church. Surviving besides his wife Mable is one daughter Mrs. Lois Chadwick and one grand-daughter of Saranac; and a sister, Mrs. Nina Good also of Saranac. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday from Morris-Roetman funeral home in Saranac with the Rev John Hancock of the Saranac community church officiating. A memorial has been established for the Saranac Community Church and contributions may be left at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.
