Lyle E. Dodds, 79. of Orleans, died Tuesday morning May 22, 2012 at Twin Oaks 
Retirement in Saranac, the son of Alva and Goldie (Oberlin) Dodds. After the 
death of his father in a farm accident near Smyrna, William A. Meyers became a 
father to Lyle and his brothers and sisters.

Lyle was a truck driver with Gen Corp in Ionia, retiring after 43 years of 
service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building and riding dune buggies up 
north. He enjoyed anything to do with being outside.

He married Beatrice Crissman on Oct. 30, 1951 and she preceded him in 2008. 
Lyle was also preceded by his parents; brothers, Vernon Dickins and Gerald 
Dodds; and his sisters, Evelyn Meyers and Cathleen Small.

Lyle is loved and survived by his children, Peggy (Alan) Minzey, Cherylann 
(Raymond) Johnston and Edward (Kathy) Dodds, all of Orleans; 13 grandchildren; 
18 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Shiloh Community
