                               H. DEAN DODGE

LAKE ODESSA - H.Dean Dodge, 88 of Lake Odessa, died Monday at Provincial 
House,Hastings.

Born April 3, 1900, in Elsie, he was the son of Arthur and Mae Hambleton Dodge. 
He was graduated from Elsie High School in 1917, and was married to Opal Lapo in 
Lake Odessa on June 28, 1928.

He owned and operated Dodge Grocery and Meat Market inLake Odessa until the mid 
1940s, after she farmed in the Elsie area.

He was a member of the Lake Odessa American Legion and was a former member of 
the Lake Odessa school board.

Surviving are his wife  Opal; a daughter, Mrs.Carroll (Delora) McWhorter of 
Mulliken; a son, Charles Dodge of Bellevue; four grandchildren and two sisters, 
Bethel Engbretson and Eileen Engbretson, both of Sun City, Ariz.

Two sisters, Mirth and Wilda preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 1 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake 
Odessa, with the Rev. Charles Richards officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Lake Odessa Ambulance Service.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 3:3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
