Mrs. Dodge, Mrs. Fleda Eddy, Mrs. Clarence Winchell, and the latter’s children and grandchildren constituted this remarkable ancestral line. Mrs. Dodge at the age of 95 died of old age Sunday at the home of her son, Fred M. Dodge. For the past three years she had lived winters with her daughter, Mrs. Eddy. She possessed a keen mind for a person of her age and discussed fluently the events of both the past and present. She was born in Shiawassee county in 1837 the first white child born in that locality. Her husband, Horace P. Dodge, died 47 years ago. She was affiliated with the Congregational church and the order of the Eastern Star. Besides her daughter in Ionia, she leaves two sons and a daughter, Fred M. Dodge, Fergus; Henry P. Dodge, Whitmore Lake; Mrs. Alice Hudson, Royal Oak. Funeral services will be conducted in the Lainsburg Congregational church at 2:30 Wednesday. Burial will be in the Laingsburg cemetery. Grandsons will act as pallbearers. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/d/dodge4768nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
