Mrs. Catherine Dodge, 80, died Saturday night, March 29, at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Bertha Cutler, at Central Lake where she had been visiting since
last November.

Mrs. Dodge was born in Hagersville, Canada, June 9, 1866, the daughter of John
and Sarah Giles.  She was united in marriage September 16, 1886 to W.J. Dodge in
Montcalm county, the couple coming to Ionia in 1921 where Mr. Dodge founded the
Dodge Coal Co. which he operated until his death in 1932.  Mrs. Dodge was a
member of the First Methodist church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert Wisner of Lansing; one son, Harold,
of Grand Rapids; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Terry of Tacoma, Washington; Mrs.
Josephine Whitehead of Newaygo, Mrs. Hattie Ogletree, Mrs. Bertha Cutler and
Mrs. Eeafa Mason, all of Central Lake; three grandchildren, Mrs. Chandler Haight
of Ionia, Mrs. Janet Dodge of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Leonard Dudciz of Burbank,
California, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be announced later pending word from Harold Dodge, who is
in Burbank, California at present.  Meanwhile the body is resting at Boynton’s
funeral home.

interred in the Highland Park Mausoleum.]
