P. Dodson of Hubbardston, A Man That Will Be Missed. Again on June 22, was the news echoed that W. P. Dodson had dropped dead while waiting on his customers in the store. He was born in Indiana, Jan. 24, 1861, and at the age of 2 ½ years he came with his parents locating on a farm near Palo. Jan. 10, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Rachael MacDermond, and to this union were born four children, three having died in infancy. Mr. Dodson has been a citizen of this place for the past 35 years, having worked for the late J. W. Cowman in the mercantile business and in 1901 with C. W. Grill engaged in the grocery and meat business. In March 1918, he purchased the interest of Mr. Grill taking his son Willie in with him and which has since been known as W. P. Dodson & Son. Mr. Dodson was a man that always worked for the up building of the community in which he lived, he was a liberal giver to all funds during the late war, and to those in need. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday, June 27, Rev. C. S. Burchfield of Carson City officiating. He leaves to mourn, his wife, one son, three sisters, two brothers, and a host of friends. The floral tributes were many and beautiful and were a token of sympathy of the many friends. The pall bearers were H. D. Ferguson, A. W. Gardner, C. E. Tabor, Ed. Hayes, Robt. Kelly, and Jas. Samon, and he was laid to rest in the family lot in the West Side cemetery.
