Mrs. Dodson had been at the institution some six weeks during which time she underwent three surgical operations, the last one on Tuesday, which proved fatal. The remains were brought home Wednesday evening by the husband, who left for Ann Arbor on Tuesday evening about fifteen minutes before notice was received here of her death. Beside the husband, deceased is survived by her widowed mother, who made her home with her daughter. Mrs. Dodson was a lifetime resident of the county, many years with her husband on the farm in Ronald, but the recent years a resident of Ionia, where she was greatly beloved for her many womanly qualities and real moral worth. The funeral of Mrs. George Dodson will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock from the late residence, 134 West Lincoln Ave., and at 1 o’clock from the church in Palo. The services here will be conducted by Rev. E. E. Branch of the Baptist church. Mrs. Dodson (Clara Wilder) was born in Honeyoye, New York state in 1865. When three years of age her mother, Mrs. Lucy Beals, who survives, moved to this state. Mrs. Dodson was educated at Palo, and united with the church with which she has been so long identified in all its activities, in 1886. She was married to Mr. Dodson in Sept. 1882. Three children were born to them, two boys and a daughter. The boys died in infancy, and the daughter, Miss Elsie, a most loveable young woman who had adopted school teaching as a profession, and in which she was markedly successful, passing on in this city some three years ago.
