Earl U. Dolley, 73, of Ionia, passed away Jan. 28, 1999 at Laurels of Kent in 
Lowell.  He was born Aug. 31, 1925 in Reed City, the son of Jesse and Gertrude 
Ames Dolley.  He went on to marry Leila Stanton July 24, 1948 in Ionia.  A 
World War II veteran of the Navy, Mr. Dolley was a life member of the Sheridan 
VFW post.

Besides his wife Leila, he is survived by his mother, Gertrude Dolley of 
Ionia; son, Doug of Orleans; daughters, Leslee (Ken) Frank of Kentucky, Kay of 
Greenville, Shireen of Florida, and Marlene Moore of Grand Rapids; brother, 
Francis (Sheila) Dolley of Ionia; sisters, Dora (Elmer) Jones of Belding and 
Geraldine (Roland) Leland of Orleans; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Garry; two brothers; and 
two sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, with 
Rev. Terry French officiating.  Interment will be in Easton Cemetery, where 
there will be a military service.  Visitation is Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 
the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make contributions to the memorial of 
their choice.
