Dolson, who died at his home, 410 East Washington street, Monday afternoon at 2:30, after several months of illness, will be held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock, and burial will take place in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery. Mr. Dolson, for 52 years and employee of the Pere Marquette railroad, entered the railroad field at the age of 17, and has served continuously in various capacities from cashier and bill clerk at the old freight house under the administrations of J. B. Foley and C. D. Childs. Later he entered the train service as engineer, in which capacity he served for 18 years, until failure of eyesight caused him to be transferred to baggage agent, where he remained for 25 years, until his present illness. Mr. Dolson had held the office of secretary and treasurer of the International Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for many years, and was an active worker in Masonry, taking his third degree October 5, 1888. He took the Red Cross in the commandery on April 15, 1892. He joined the Eastern Star on January 1, 1889. Mr. Dolson was initiated into Lucullus lodge No. 76, K. of P., June 1, 1920. He became a member of the St. John’s Episcopal church on Good Friday, April, 1895. Mr. Dolson was born in Akron, Ohio August 20, 1854, and came to this city with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Dolson, when 15 years of age. He is survived by the widow and five children, all of whom were with him at the time of his death, Mrs. Harvey Towne, of Pontiac; Mrs. L. R. McNaughton, of Ionia; R. W. Dolson, of Grand Rapids; Dr. G. C. Dolson, of I add, Ill., and Mrs. Victor Carlisle, of Chicago, and a brother, Dr. James E. Dolson, of Evanston, Ill.
