Donovan, for nearly half a century a resident of Ronald township, but of late years making her home alternately with her sons, Richard E. of Ionia, and John S. of Belding, passed to her eternal rest at 3:30 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon. She was aged 77 years, and had been in feeble health only about three months. The husband died many years ago, some 35, and the only members of the immediate family surviving are the two sons above mentioned. She was in every sense a good woman, a mother who was devoted to the home life, faithful as a neighbor and friend, greatly attached to her church, and was one of the first members of the Rosary society of the Church of SS. Peter & Paul. Funeral from this church at 9 o’clock on Thursday morning. There was a good attendance at the funeral service for Mrs. Donovan, at SS. Peter and Paul’s Thursday. The sermon by Rev. F. McCarthy was one of scriptural consolation to the friends, and a worthy tribute to the good woman, who from pioneer days had been faithful to her duty to the church, and true in all the relations of life. The pall-bearers were Thos. A. Carten, Mayor E. F. Gallagher, Thos. McGannon and John Hickey.
