   Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

     EILEEN "DUTCH" DOORNBOS

Died Wednesday October 15, 2025 at home-age 88.
Born November 19, 1936 in Kalamazoo, to Bob & Jacoba (VanDalen) Hartman.
Dutch was blessed with six children, Laurie, Terri, Cindy, Tammey, Carla & 
Chuck.
When she married Don, she was blessed with his children, Donny & Kelly.
Preceded in death by her parents Bob & Jacoba Hartman, daughter Laurie & son-in-
law, Denny Herron, son Donny Doornbos, great-grandson Brayden Elrod, sisters 
Maude Miller & Jackie Wilbur.
Survived by husband, Don Doornbos, children; Terri (Dennis) Bisanz, Cindy 
(Bryan)McGraw, Tammey (Robert) Underhill, Carla (Brian) Ford, Chuck (Brenda) 
Smith & Kelly Binkley, 67 grandchildren & great-grandchildren with 3 of them  
namesake. Nancy Eileen, Maryissa Eileen & Vera Eileen, many  nieces & nephews.
Don & Dutch met when Dutch wanted some pointers on clowning. They never 
separated after that.They clowned together for 27 years.
They fished, golfed & traveled the U.S. & made the most of life.
Previously Dutch owned a restaurant in Harrison, MI.
Their home was always filled with kids, grand & great grandkids.
She was a member of Berlin Center United Methodist Church & also a member of the 
Red Hat Society of which she was the Queen Red Hat.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Berlin Global United Methodist, 
Saranac, MI.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, from 4-7pm at Lake Funeral Home, 3521 S. 
State Rd, Ionia, MI 48846.
Funeral service will be Saturday, October 18, at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
Luncheon to follow at LeValley Church, 4018 Kelsey Hwy, Ionia,MI. 48846.
