Dora, age 68, of Lyons, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006 at home with his family. He was born September 11, 1937 in Grant Township, Clare Michigan, the son of Fred & Hazel (Olds) Dora. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church, was a member of The VFW Post #4090 Mens Auxiliary, the Grand River Conservation Club in Portland and attended Weidman High School. Joseph is survived by his 2 daughters Gay & (Mike) Mitchell of Sheridan and Tamara & (Joseph) Garcia of Texas; his son Joe Dora, Jr. of Ionia; 7 grandchildren Bradley & (Andrea) Plath of Grandville, Eloy Rodriguez of Fenwick, Delores Dora of Ionia, Matthew Dora of Fenwick, Leslie, Joshua and Brittany Garcia all of Texas, several great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 6 sisters. His son Rick Dora precedes him in death. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home in Portland, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Portland by Fr. Larry King. Burial will be in Portland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ionia Area Hospice. The Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, is handling local arrangements.
