Broken Hip Causes Death of Old Lady

A broken hip caused the death of Mrs. Alice Doremus, widow of Marshal Doremus, at 
St. Mary’s hospital., Grand Rapids, Monday.  The accident occurred five weeks ago 
while she was at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. Thornton, in the same city.  
Mrs. Thornton will be better remembered here as the widow of Fred L. Francis.  
The remains were brought to Portland Tuesday and buried in Portland cemetery 
Wednesday, Rev. Leo Niles having charge of the services at the grave.
