C. Dorenburg, until recently of Muir, died at Stafford, N.Y., Saturday, July 17th, 1915, aged 74 years, 9 months and 18 days. Mr. Dorenburg suffered a stroke of paralysis about five years ago and since that time has been partially crippled in his right side. About four weeks ago gangrene set in in his right foot; the doctors holding out no hope from the first. Deceased was born at Leroy, N.Y., September 29th, 1840, and came to Michigan fifty years ago settling on the farm west of Muir, where he spent the rest of his life up to April of this year, when the farm was sold and in company with his wife went to New York state to visit the place where he was born. The body arrived in Muir, from the East, Monday accompanied by the widow, Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Webber and daughter of Detroit and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tillotson of Leroy, N.Y. Mrs. Tillotson is a sister of Mrs. Dorenburg. Mr. Dorenburg was the last of the Dorenburg family, and is survived by a widow, a daughter, Mrs. M.J. Webber of Detroit, and an adopted brother, Geo. Dorenburg of Columbus, Ohio. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Muir Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. Weaver. Interment in the North Plains cemetery.
