Shortly before going to press word reached the Observer that Ellis Dorin, aged 54 years, prominent farmer of Sebewa Corners, had committed suicide, this forenoon, by hanging himself to the limb of a tree in the lane on his farm at that place. The body was found a little before noon by his son, Wesley, who had been to Portland. As Mr. Dorin had not been seen by any of the family since the breakfast hour, a search was started for him upon the son’s return from town. Neighbors state that the unfortunate man had been acting very queerly of late and the rash act is attributed to a deranged mind. Besides the widow he is survived by four children. ------------ Ellis Dorin Was Buried Sunday. Was Born On Farm Northeast Of Collins Fifty-Three Years Ago. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home for Ellis Dorin, of Sebewa, who hung himself at his home Thursday. Burial was in the Sebewa cemetery. Mr. Dorin, a prominent citizen, was the coroner who held an inquest over the body of Fred McNeil, another Sebewa farmer who hung himself some years ago. He used the same rope with which McNeil committed suicide, and which Dorin had taken home with him after the McNeil inquest. Ill health is believed to have been the cause. Mr. Dorin was born on a farm northeast of Collins 53 years ago.
