LIVED, EARLY IN LIFE, ON WHAT IS NOW THE ROCK FARM. James Dorin, who came to Lyons township 67 years ago, died at the home of his son, Frank Dorin, near Collins, early Wednesday morning. He had been in ill health, though 78 years old, to the day before his death, when he began having trouble with his heart. The exertion of arising, Wednesday, proved too much for him and he passed away soon after making the attempt. Funeral services were held at the Collins church Friday afternoon and burial was in the Keefer cemetery. Mr. Dorin was one of the best known men in the vicinity of Collins. He came to that section with his parents, when he was but 11 years old, settling on what is now know as the Rock farm, not far from Commonwealth dam. He was born in London, Ont., May 1, 1840, and married Miss Elizabeth Johnson 54 years ago. Since her death he has resided with the children, mostly with his son Frank, who lives close to the old farm. He has been unable to do much work for the last 10 years, but spent much of his time visiting with his friends, who were numerous. Four of his children are dead. Those surviving are Mrs.Mary Clark, Ark.; Frank Dorin, Portland, Mrs.Grace Roberts, Ithaca; Els W. Dorin, Sebewa; Mrs. Sara Partley, Mrs. Vinna Guernsey,La.
