Belding News, 15 Aug 1895
	
Chadwick – It is our painful duty to record this week the saddest fatal accident
which ever happened in our community.  Friday afternoon, Mrs. Foster Dorr placed
her little nine month old babe, Lena Agnes, on the bed to take its accustomed
nap and returned to her work in an adjoining room.  The child was in the habit
of sleeping long.  After a time the mother entered the room and was greatly
surprised to find the child had in some manner pulled a pillow over its little
face and on removing found her child unconscious.  Kind neighbors flocked in and
every effort possible to revive it was useless.  It had evidently been dead
several minutes.  It is needless to say it was a sad blow to its parents as it
was the only child and first grandchild and the pet of the family.  The funeral
was held Saturday at 8 p.m., at the house, Rev. E. Wood officiating.  The whole
neighborhood mourns for the little rose bud so soon called home and it is not
strange, for to know her was to love her.
