Doty, 56 of 236 Monroe avenue, Muskegon, who died unexpectedly Sunday. He was found dead in his bed Wednesday afternoon by fellow workers who went to his home after he had failed to report for work. Investigating officers said death was due to coronary thrombosis. Mr. Doty was born November 19, 1905 in Ionia county, the son of Edward and Mabel Lapo Doty. He was a former Lake Odessa businessman and when he resided there was active in civic affairs. He also was a member of the original three-man rationing board for Ionia county during World War II and later was a republican candidate for sheriff. For the past year and a half he was employed as chef at Century club in Muskegon. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dean Cross and Mrs. Michael Brighton of Lake Odessa, and Mrs. Leon Pitchford of Eagle; three sons, Gordon Doty of Grand Rapids, Douglas of Sheboygan, Wis., and Bruce of Lansing; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Guinan of Lansing; one brother, Maurice Doty of Potterville; a half-brother, James Doty of Saranac; two half-sisters, Mrs. Arthur Davis of Saranac, and Mrs. Don Rolfe of Lake Placid, Fla.; a stepmother Mrs. Frank Loomis of Saranac, and six grandchildren. Rev. F. J. Fitch will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
