He was the son of Charles and Mary Doty and was born in Berlin township, March 10, 1878, coming with his family to Orleans township when he was 25 years of age. He married Carrie Wooldridge, January 1, 1907 in Orleans and was a highly respected farmer in Orleans township all of his life. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and lived on a farm on Palmer Road. He is survived by three sons George and Earl of Orleans and Ray at home and one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Cottrell of this city; four brothers, Allen and Percy of this city, and Max and Hubert of Orleans; six sisters, Mrs. Jessie Magers of this city, Mrs. Emma Wooldridge, Mrs. Cora Rogers, Mrs. Maude Howe, Mrs. Blanche Bixby and Mrs. Daisy Chickering, all of Orleans and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:30 at Fitzjohn Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Clough officiating and the burial will be in Orleans cemetery.
