Ionia Daily Sentinel, 10 Dec 1912

The death of George Douglas occurred this morning about 5 o’clock at his rooms
over his shoe store.  Pneumonia and resulting heart trouble caused his death. 
He was 55 years of age and has for many years been a resident of Ionia where he
has conducted the shoe store formerly owned by J. Lindley.  Mr. Douglas leaves
several relatives in the west but no family.  He was a prominent member of Ionia
fraternal circles and a public spirited and generous citizen.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Highland Park Cemetery.]
