Louise Douglas Passes Away.

Mrs.Louise E. Douglas, 80, of &24 Sixth Avenue, passed away Wednesday evening 
November 2, at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born in Gratiot County, December 19, 1897, the daughter of Ross and 
Sarah (Altenburg) Miller and was a graduate of the Saranac High School in 1915, 
and from the Central Michigan University at Mr.Pleasant in 1959.

She married Roy W.Douglas June 4, 1919 at Belding and he passed away in 1948.

Mrs.Douglas had resided in Montcalm and Ionia Counties before moving to Lake 
Odessa in 1956 from Ionia and was a teacher in the Lake Odessa Public School 
system until she retired in 1966.

She was a member of the Lake Odessa Christian Reformed Church and was a Past 
Matron of the Queen Esther Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Ionia.

Surviving are four daughters; Mrs.Marvin (Virginia) Nelson of Ionia, Mrs.O.D.
(Glenna) Miller of Janesville, Wisc., Mrs.Clifford (Jane) Fordham of Massilon, 
Ohio and MRs.E.B. (Mary Lou) Clark of Utica; a son, Wayne of Birmingham; 17 
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Miller of Ionia; 
two half sisters, Mrs.Russell Williams of Crystal Lake and Mrs.Josephine Dennie 
of Lyons, Nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral 
Chapel. Rev. Fred Bultman officiated with burial in the Balcom Cemetery near 
Ionia.
