Martin Douse, one of the pioneer residents of this vicinity, passed away on 
Friday afternoon at the age of 80 years.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Douse were members 
of the Methodist Episcopal church, and have always been interest in all lines 
of work of the church.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Jennie Douse, he is survived by several children, Mrs. 
Anna Ward and Mrs. William Morey of this city; Leonard Douse, Peter Douse, Mrs. 
Mattie Smith, and Mrs. Nellie Reed, of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Frank Houck, of 
Lowell.

The funeral for Martin Douse will be held from the late home, 205 South Jackson 
street Tuesday afternoon at 2:30.  Burial will take place in the family lot at 
Highland park.
