Rev. W. K. Spencer, D.D., was the officiating clergyman, and the singing was by Miss Mabel Gibsone, Miss Maud Lincoln and Messrs. Laurence W. Smith and Foster Buck. He was the youngest of a family of eleven children, eight of whom are yet living. The floral tokens to the memory of this young man of 19 years were very many and very beautiful. The relatives from out of the city who were present at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howk, Lowell; Mr. and Mrs. John Douse, Grand Ledge; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Derrick and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Douse and son, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Douse and son, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reed and children, and Mr. and Mrs. William Kiefth and children, all of Grand Rapids. Interment was in Highland Park, and the bearers were: Earl Hanigan, Glen Stannard, Charles Smith, Leo Corporan, Harry Bull, Will Mulligan.
