Excerpts from Lowell Obituary

Rex Lee Dowling
Died Friday May 3, 2019-age 77.
Born September 23, 1941 son of Wayne SR & Helen (Gowlaski) Dowling.
His early life was in Lowell, then moved to Cascade when his Mom married Carl 
Kerekes, in the 195s.
Attended school at Cascade School, then back to Lowell to graduate in 1959.
Rex served 3 years in the US Navy.
Worked for Kelvinator and GM as a journeyman hi-lo repairman.
After retirement he helped his son start Beaverwood Tree Services.
Rex was predeceased by his mother, father, step-father, brother Wayne and wife, 
Marian, plus many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rex is survived by his wife of 54 years Connie (Clemenz) Dowling; sons, Doug 
(Elaine), Greg Dowling and grandsons Dawson Victor and Preston Edward; step-
grandchildren Jamie (Justin) Cooley and Jenny (Al) Williams; five step-great-
grandchildren; sisters, Gwen Zanella and Carla Kerekes Martin (Ron);half-
brothers, Dennis (Mae Dines) and David Dowling; sister-in-aw Carol Clemenz Stull 
(Rick); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rex enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening.
He touched so many with his humor, knowledge, and work ethic.
He was blessed with property on Beaver Island.
Visitation was Monday at the Roth-Gerst Chapel. 
Private services will be at Oakwood cemetery, Lowell
Memorial contributions may be made to Beaver Island health care Center, 37304 
King's Hwy, Beaver island, MI 49782.
